The Print People was started by Pat Grant as a family business here in Murwillumbah in 1987. With Pat having already 14 years experience in the printing industry, he decided to set up shop on Riverview Street (now known as Kyogle Road). Before starting his own business, Pat worked as a printer for the local newspaper from 1973.

Nikki began working for her father in May 2002, and helped with the move of the business to Condong Street in 2012. Nikki oversaw design, admin, managing customers’ files/jobs, invoicing, quoting,  communications, finishing and was able to work very closely with Pat, learning constantly and gained an incredible amount of experience and knowledge; which was proudly passed down to the second generation.

After Pat’s passing in 2015, Nikki continued to run the business for her mother, Helen and when Helen was ready to retire, Nikki and her husband Darren purchased the business in October of 2020, relocating it from Condong Street, to its current location in Proudfoots Lane. 

Nikki was born and raised in Murwillumbah whilst Darren moved from Tamworth with his family when he was a young 8 year old tacker.  They have raised their 4 beautiful children right here! Their 2 year old Granddaughter is now the third generation to  grow up in The Print People HQ!

To date, Nikki has had over 20 years of hands-on experience in the design and print industry! With a keen eye for conceptual design and an undying creativity, the purchase of the business has only encouraged and helped to propel her in her design and print career.

OUR NEW HOME IN PROUDFOOTS LANE

Since the move to Proudfoots Lane, we have continued to thrive here thanks to a more convenient and central location, becoming highly accessible to local businesses and anyone passing through the laneway.

Seeing a larger volume of clients and a great influx of new work prompted the hire of Lily Mae, in mid 2021.

We pride ourselves on being a small family owned Australian Business, which is locally operated and always striving to use local, recycled stock and sustainably sourced products as much as, and wherever possible!
